REGISTRATION & PAYMENT

What is the registration deadline?

Registration will remain open until all available places have been booked. As the number of participants is limited, we recommend not waiting too long to sign up.

How does the 250 € deposit at registration work?

The 250 € is a deposit that secures and guarantees your place on Lap On Ice. Each participant must pay this deposit individually, including for a duo registration or with an Ally.

What are the payment terms?

To confirm your registration, each participant first pays a 250 € deposit to reserve their place. The balance can then be paid in a single instalment or spread over two payments, 70% before 31 July and 30% before 31 October, at no extra cost.

Do you provide an invoice?

Yes. An invoice can be issued once the payment for the challenge has been made in full.

Can I change my chosen experience after registering?

Yes, you can change your experience (for example switching from "Athlete" to "Explorer"). Changes are allowed up to 60 days before the start of the challenge, to give us time to update the tracking documents, the registrations and the logistics. However, no change of experience can be made on site. The packages (e.g. flight, or flight + dog sledding) cannot be changed.

Where can I view the Terms and Conditions of Sale?

The Terms and Conditions of Sale will be available on the website by 1 June.

What is the cancellation policy?

The cancellation terms will be set out in the Terms and Conditions of Sale, which will be available on the website by 1 June.

How is the cost covered by a company?

Some companies may choose to support an employee's participation as part of a sponsorship or a contribution to a sporting and charitable project. The terms of this support are to be arranged directly with your company.

Is there any help to put together sponsorship files?

Yes. Participants will receive a guide to help them build their fundraising approach, as well as a sample sponsorship file for reference. The aim is to give simple, concrete pointers to help everyone rally their network around their challenge.

THE PACKAGES: EXPLORERS, ATHLETES & ALLIES

What does the "Allies" experience include during Lap On Ice?

The "Allies" rate is the same as the other participation categories. Even without taking part in the skating stages, Allies fully experience Lap On Ice alongside the group and share the major highlights of the adventure. In particular, they will have access to the start and finish areas of the stages to accompany and cheer on the skaters throughout the challenge. Snowshoes will also be provided free of charge for the whole stay, so everyone can freely enjoy the exceptional environment of the Far North.

Is it mandatory to represent a charity to take part?

No, it is not mandatory. Participants who wish to may nonetheless choose to support a charity as part of their solidarity challenge. And for those who do not have a charity in mind, it will be possible to support Premiers de Cordée directly.

Is part of my registration fee donated to Premiers de Cordée?

No. No part of the registration fee is automatically donated to a charity. However, the winners of Lap On Ice who do not represent a charity may have their prize donated to Premiers de Cordée.

THE SPORTING CHALLENGE

Is this challenge open to everyone?

Yes! Lap On Ice is open to a range of profiles, provided you already have some prior gliding experience (ice skating, rollerblading, ice hockey, skate skiing, etc.). Several participation categories let everyone experience the adventure at their own pace, whether you are a regular athlete, a former competitor or simply a fan of out-of-the-ordinary challenges. Minors can take part from the age of 16 and must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the stay.

What does "duo participation" mean?

Several participation categories let everyone experience the adventure at their own pace, whether you are a regular athlete, a former competitor or simply a fan of out-of-the-ordinary challenges.

How do the Lap On Ice stages unfold?

Each stage day begins with a group warm-up led by the organisers before heading out to the skating site. Once there, participants have a heated space to get ready, gear up and discover the ice conditions before the start. Starts will be organised in waves to ensure participants' comfort, avoid overcrowding on the ice and allow everyone to fully enjoy the experience in the best conditions. The stages are timed, whatever the chosen format ("Explorers" or "Athletes"), with a ranking drawn up at the end of the stages. At the finish, heated areas and refreshment zones will allow participants to recover and refuel before returning to base camp. Each evening, recovery and stretching sessions will be offered to optimise recovery in the conditions of the Far North.

How long does it take to complete a stage?

Depending on the skater's level, the weather conditions and the state of the natural ice, a stage can last between 45 minutes and 2 h 30. Natural ice is very different from rink ice: it has more roughness, relief and variation, which can affect your pace.

Is Lap On Ice accessible to people with a physical disability?

Not for the first edition. This is a subject close to our hearts that we want to study seriously for the coming editions. Before opening the challenge to adapted participation formats, we first want to test and fine-tune the event in the best possible safety and organisational conditions during this first edition. Making Lap On Ice more accessible in the future is clearly one of our ambitions.

EQUIPMENT & LOGISTICS

What types of skates are suitable for Lap On Ice?

Ice hockey, figure skating or ice dance skates are suitable for the challenge. Short-track skates, on the other hand, are not recommended for this kind of adventure on natural ice. Their very long, bevelled blades tend to sink more into natural ice, which makes them less suited to the conditions of the course.

What clothing and equipment are recommended for the challenge?

We will guide participants in packing their bags with a detailed list of the clothing and equipment recommended for skating in Far North conditions. Wearing a helmet is mandatory during the skating stages. Additional protection is optional but strongly recommended: knee pads, elbow pads and wrist guards may be worn according to each person's preferences and level. We are also working with our equipment supplier to offer attractive deals to participants who would like to complete their gear before departure.

Can equipment be loaned on site?

Yes. Ice hockey skates, figure skates and helmets can be loaned free of charge to participants. The equipment provided will not necessarily be the most high-end models, but it will allow you to take part in the challenge in good conditions.

What if I am not departing from Paris?

No problem. Participants coming from another city can arrange their own travel to join the group. We simply recommend arriving on site on Wednesday in the late afternoon, in order to take part in the arrival briefing and the welcome dinner. The challenge ends on Saturday evening with the closing dinner and the prize-giving. The night from Saturday to Sunday is included, and everyone is then free to arrange their return as they wish.

ACTIVITIES & THE FAR NORTH

What activities are offered outside the challenge?

In addition to Lap On Ice, several Nordic activities will be offered as options: snowshoe walks, snowmobiling, dog sledding, and reindeer-drawn sleigh rides. These activities are open to all participants, whatever their category: Explorers, Athletes or Allies. They are offered in addition to the challenge. Skaters will have a free half-day each day to enjoy these experiences in the heart of the Far North if they wish.

ACCOMMODATION & LIFE ON SITE

How will accommodation be allocated?

Participants will be allocated by gender in shared chalets of 3 to 4 people. Duos who would like a private chalet can request one, subject to availability and with an additional charge. Depending on availability, it will also be possible to book a night for two in the resort's famous glass bubbles, also with a surcharge.

Is it possible to book a chalet for two people only?

Yes, you can request accommodation reserved for your pair only. This request must be specified at registration or after your booking. It remains subject to availability and will involve an additional charge, to be announced soon.

Can I sleep in the glass bubbles? At what price?

This request must be specified at the time of registration and remains subject to availability, with an additional charge.

How are food allergies and special diets handled?

Simply let us know ahead of the stay so that we can plan suitable menus or alternatives according to everyone's needs.

Is it possible to sleep only one night in a glass bubble / igloo?

No. Accommodation will stay the same for the entire duration of the stay, to ensure smooth organisation and participants' comfort. It will therefore not be possible to change room or accommodation during the adventure.

HEALTH

Is there a medical team?

Yes, there is a medical team on site, present throughout the challenge.
